🌿The US Fish and Wildlife Service has been financing for more than 5 years the conservation efforts of FCD in the Chiquibul National Park. The support encompasses areas of research, monitoring, and capacity building. Today, Dr. Ginger Deason, Program Officer for USFWS Central America visited the Chiquibul to observe the achievements made in these areas. Field visits were made to the nesting area of the scarlet macaws, and met with Park Rangers at Tapir Camp. The first hand she learnt the efforts conducted by field staff in protecting the macaw population and the interventions made to decrease the human footprint expansion. She also had the opportunity of meeting staff at FCD’s headquarters to learn of the challenges faced and program achievements. We remain thankful to USFWS for their ongoing support.🍃
