Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) has a vibrant membership program and diverse local staff administered by a seven member Board of Directors that can serve from four to six years maximum.
The entire staff of FCD are from communities located nearby the Chiquibul-Maya Mountains. These are young individuals that have a personal aspiration to grow and make a positive difference in society through environmental conservation efforts. Presently, FCD has a cohort of eighteen park rangers, four forest rangers, one educator, two research station maintenance personnel, four field research assistants, three Karst management personnel, seven Eco-Guards, one Extension Technician and five highly qualified Managers and administrative staff. All FCD employees speak and write both English and Spanish.
